Dr. Hong is an internationally acclaimed consultant with training and expertise spanning Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Ireland. Specializing in cornea and anterior segment as well as cataract procedures, Dr. Hong's areas of expertise include corneal disorders, corneal transplants, cataracts, and eyelid surgeries.
An advocate for global eye health, Dr. Hong is a pioneer in innovative ocular technology and surgical techniques. Based in Dunedin, he is widely recognized as one of the foremost specialists in cataract, cornea, and anterior segment treatments. With over 10,000 successful procedures under his belt, Dr. Hong has also been instrumental in the development of the Otago Nurse Intravitreal Injection Programme and is the esteemed author of the Otago Handbook of Ophthalmology.
